Simon Peter (Follow Me) - Wanda Lindstrom

I frirst heard this song when I was pretty young, maybe 5th or 6th grade. My sister had brought home a tape from Seminary called "Deseret Music Sampler." It was a collection of songs that were suppose to be used someway during seminary that particular year. I just fell in love with this song. It's so powerful and gives a different perspective on how to look at Peter. Many people critize him because he "didn't have enough faith"; yet he walked on water. Also because he denied christ. But this song makes you think, hmmm... on that one.

Anyway, when I was in Seminary, I also was able to purchase the sampler, and due to umteen moves, I lost the music. Once I realized my tape was missing, I have tried for many years to find this song. I have had it running through my head quite a bit because the words are powerful and the tune is catchy. I have searched and searched, and searched, and finally... FINALLY I found it! yes, that's right. I finally found it! I was highly shocked that no one had the lyrics posted, and there wasn't a download anywhere. Shoot, I didn't even mind purchasing the CD for it, if it meant I could have the song, but that too was also elusive. I finally found the song on a site called LDSaudio.com. (beware it's actually hard to find it. lol). So finally... my search is now finished! I thought you all might enjoy this song so I have posted the lyrics (I hope I did good cause i had to type them while singing it. lol)

Enjoy!

Simon Peter (Follow Me)

His Name was Simon Peter, a fisherman by trade.
A great big man with calloused hands, an honest life he made.
Then Jesus said to Peter, "Cast your net into the sea.
I'll make you a fisher of man's souls if you come. Follow me."
Oh, you know it won't be easy. Follow me."

The ship was in big trouble and the men cried out in fear.
Then Christ walked upon the water, and said, "Be of good cheer.
If you'll have faith Dear Peter, then come and walk to me,
You can do this thing and so much more if you come and follow me.
Follow me. Oh especially when you fall. Follow me."

He grew in faith and wisdom by his hands he fought.
He found out Jesus came to die, determined he would not.
He this man from Gallilee was in fact the Son of God.
He learned by revelation the great things he was taught.

"Now listen to me Peter. My faithful, fearless friend.
They'll want to take your life with mine. But that can't be the end.
This flock still needs some tending and you'll have all the keys.
It's the hardest thing you'll ever do but you must deny me.
Though shalt deny me. Three times they'll put you through the test. Deny me."

They laid their hands on Jesus. Men took him away.
Peter watched him through the trial, it was more than he could take.
'Cause this great big man with calloused hands couldn't help his friend in need.
He clenched his fists while tears ran down and cried out bitterly.
"Count on me. Oh it's the hardest thing I've ever done. Count on me!"

And in the quiet seplecular Peter wondered why.
But when he found the robes of the risen lord he knew why Jesus died.
The he thought about those words Christ spoke that day beside the sea.
He said "I'll make you a fisher of man's souls if you'll come follow me.
Oh you know it won't be easy. Follow me. Especially when you fall. Follow me."

We'll do the best we can. We'll follow Thee,

Adam Lambert

Adam Mitchel Lambert (born January 29, 1982) is an American singer, songwriter, and actor from San Diego, California. In May 2009, he finished as the runner-up on the 8th season of American Idol. The Times identified Lambert as the first openly gay mainstream pop artist to launch a career on a major label in the United States.

Lambert released his debut album, For your Entertainment, in November 2009, via RCA Records/19 Recordings. The album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 in December 2009, selling 198,000 copies in the United States in the first week.

I am not an American Idol fan. I have only caught a few episodes here and there, but I have never had much interest in the whole thing. It's wonderful for those that are on the show, but for me, I have had better things to do, or watch on TV when the show was aired. With that said, I never caught a single episode of season 8 where Adam finished as runner-up. The first time that I heard Adam sing was when my niece was playing a video she had made that had used the song "Whataya Want from me". From the first line of the song, to the lyrics, I was in love. The song was so upbeat, and moving. I loved it. Anytime I hear the song, it is immediately stuck in my head for days. I keep singing it over and over and over. I had to know more. I had to know who this artist was, what he looked like, because trust me, someone who can sing this well, has got to be very sexy.  I was trying to decide whether or not I was going to buy the song (yeah, that was a short debate. lol) so I looked it up online, and found a performance Adam had done on The View and yup, he had totally and completely captured my heart. I haven't expanded my music collection with any additional Adam Lambert songs... yet. Gotta have $$$ for that, but I do enjoy listening to his soulful voice and will purchase additional songs as I am able. For now, I hope you enjoy my tribute to Adam.

p.s. I did just have to say, my heart broke a little upon finding out that Adam is gay. I have nothing against that way of life, but my dreams of making out with him were dashed. lol It made me a little sad. :) Good luck with your career Adam. We love you!
